Nottingham City Centre History Bus Map

All bus routes into Nottingham City Centre will put you within ten minutes walking distance of all the places marked, with the exception of those on the right-side edge of the map. All these are walkable, but can be reached by bus in a few minutes (route nos. are shown for these services only).  Roads served by Nottingham buses are coloured dark green.

Below the map (which is not to scale) you will see a list of the places marked with numbers. My intention is to create a website which will have links to the places marked, but using Blogspot has its limitations and I am currently learning  to use another software program.  In the meantime, I hope you find the map of interest.

I am a great believer in 'anti-walking'. This is looking at what guided walks there are, then going where your eyes and feet take you, remembering to look up, as well as around you — in other words, make your own walks up.

There is just one book I would recommend: The Pevsner Architectural Guide (of) Nottingham by Elaine Harwood. It covers the whole Nottingham City Council area and includes twelve walks. I tend to leave it at home, make notes of what and I see and look at the book later.

My list has been compiled from my head and I know there are places I could add, such as the Bell Inn on Angel Row, which also claims to be Nottingham's 'oldest inn'.

INFORMATION PLEASE: If you have any other places you would like to see added please contact me.
