Dunkirk and Wollaton History by Bus

The map below is one I plan to update. It was originally published in 2007 as part of a  Lenton Healthy Heritage Walks leaflet I produced for Dunkirk and Lenton Partnership Forum. The only things which have changed are some of the bus routes.  Presently, because of Tram works, there are detours along sections of University Boulevard.

The 13 has gone. The 5 has been replaced by the Indigo and there is now a Y36 following the same route as the 36.  The 2 has been replaced by the 'Two'.

Nature reserves and parks are as much history as any building or event. In Nottingham, these reserves often have their origins in the city's industrial past. The Beeston Sidings Nature reserve was what its name say it was and gradually fell into disuse until part became two playing fields and the other eventually became a nature reserve. Dunkirk Pond began life as a claypit.

Dunkirk Pond looking suitably wild, yet only a couple of minutes walk from University Boulevard.
